Gift Ideas for Fragrance Lovers
Each year we highlight fabulous fragrances and fragrance gift sets and each year you guys love them! While I may be a super picky nose person, I really appreciate when someone buys me a fragrance they know I'll love. I've also found that giving fragrance gifts to people I'm close to or as gift swap presents has always earned fabulous responses. We've assembled a handful of fragrances for men and women with different price points, so there's something for everyone!1. Paco Robanna Olympea Eau De Parfum 3-Piece Gift Set - Retail: $100 (Value: $127)
I love fragrance gift sets and not only does this Paco Robanna Olympea gift set have a beautiful presentation, but it includes a full-size fragrance, body lotion and purse-size mini. It's a beautiful scent and if working in the beauty retail industry (many) years ago taught me anything it's that layering really does make your scent last longer!Notes:
- Top: mandarin, ginger, jasmine
- Middle: salted vanilla
- Base: sandalwood, cashmere, ambergris
Where to Buy - Macy's/Macys.com
2. Valentino Uomo Cologne - Retail: $78-122
An amazing scent for him (or deeper scents for her), Valentino Uomo is absolutely fabulous! The hubs is moderately picky when it comes to scents, but this quintessentially Italian fragrance (as the brand puts it) caught his attention and he's been smitten with it since receiving it. It isn't so potent that it's overwhelming, but it it's strong enough that multiple people have complimented him on it many hours after first applying it. I quite like it on him as well!Notes:
- Top: Italian bergamot, myrtle liquor
- Middle: crema di gianduia
- Base: leather, cedarwood
Where to Buy - Nordstrom/Nordstrom.com Valentino.com
3. Valentina Donna Fragrance Felt Special Collector's Edition - Retail: $95-130
If there's one scent that I tried this year that I fell head-over-heels for it was "Donna" by Valentina. It is so beautiful and has caused me absolutely no headaches (which is something I struggle with when it comes to many perfumes). It's floral, but well-balanced with bergamot, vanilla and patchouli (which I normally hate on its own, but love when mixed with citrus and florals). This is going to sound odd, but if you love Lord of Misrule by LUSH, you will absolutely adore this scent. That's one of my favorite LUSH bath bombs and this reminds me a great deal of it, but super wearable! This special collector's edition bottle comes in a heavy felt box that makes quite an impression as does its textured bottle. Valentina makes one of my other favorite scents in the whole world ("Valentina"), so I'm not surprised I enjoyed this one so much! You need this scent in your life!
Notes:
- Top: bergamot
- Middle: iris, rose
- Base: leather, patchouli, benzoin, vanilla

4. Scentbird for Him or Her - Subscriptions & Gift Sets: Varies
If you've followed me for some time you're probably already familiar with Scenbird, a fragrance subscription service that allows you to sample fragrances based on your fragrance preference profile or specific requests. Scentbird has a side for men and a side for women and both the hubs and I have been fans and frequent Scentbirders for years! Each year Scenbird releases special holiday sets, which include 3 fragrances plus a voucher for a 1-month subscription (you just pay shipping). You can also gift subscriptions to people, which I think is fabulous!Where to Buy/Subscribe: Scentbird.com
5. Prada La Femme Eau de Parfum - Retail: $95-130
Another beautiful scent for her, Prada La Femme is definitely worth checking out. It's a more mature scent and definitely one for someone that appreciates a lovely floral perfume, but equally nice! This may sound odd, but I prefer deeper scents for the evening and this is perfect (to me) for date night. Keep in mind, it is very floral, so make sure you know the individual for whom you are buying before choosing.Notes:
- Top: frangipani, ylang-ylang
- Middle: vanilla, tuberose absolute
- Base: vetiver
Where to Buy - Nordstrom/Nordstrom.com Neiman Marcus/NeimanMarcus.com
6. Prada L'Homme Prada Eau De Toilette - Retail: $78-98
Another fabulous cologne option, Prada L'Homme was a big hit with the hubs who loves a good amber scent. I found it was actually quite lovely on him and unique enough that it smells nothing like anything else he owns. I can see quite a few men enjoying this scent!Note:
- Top: iris, amber
- Middle: neroli
- Base: geranium, patchouli
