Hey guys,
Things have been crazy and I just wanted to pop in and let you know we've had a major family medical emergency. I am still in shock just trying to process things and go day by day while we wait to see the outcome.
Hopefully things will begin to look up soon and I can get back on schedule with posts.
Thank you all for your understanding.

Beginning of Year Purge Blog Sale!
Please read everything prior to purchasing!
Occasionally updated as I have time to go through things. Paypal only--no e-checks.
This will be updated periodically as I de-stash, which I try to do at least once per change of season!
I have so many products that sit and go unused (many of which are backups and some I haven't had time to use) simply because I have so many to begin with! Between the fact that we're moving soon and my little guys have had a lot of expensive evals this summer, I've decided it's time to purge! I recommend you google swatches as these are quick shots and the color may vary from monitor to monitor. Please also note whether they are new, used, etc.

Shipping International:
- If you're outside the US I don't mind shipping internationally if you're willing to pay the cost.
- Canada can vary, but generally it's $5-$10 in my experience. Please provide your postal code and I'll give you a shipping cost.
- I find most countries (except Canada) cost about $12+ (depending on the weight) for First Class and $24 for a small flat-rate Priority box (if it fits inside this box it ships for that rate)
- When you contact me let me know which country you're in and I can tell you the cost of shipping.

Life & Other Stressful Things
Hey guys!
Just wanted to stop in and leave a quick note to you all. Life has been insane lately. So many things are going on, but foremost lately work for me (non-blog work) has been nuts, we're trying to plan a move in the next month or so (which includes trying to find the right place in the nutty market up here) and both our little guys are undergoing a lot of pre-school-starting evals and therapy.
*GIANT SIGH*
I am going to try my hardest to squeeze in some blog time this week because I have some super fantastic stuff to share with you, but be patient with me please!
Hopefully things will fall into place and I'll be able to return to my regular blogging schedule soon.
Thanks for taking a minute to read this!

MAC Moody Blooms Partial Collection Review - Artistic License, Hidden Motive, Nightshade, Gwi-Yo-Mi, Simply Wow, Venomous Violet, Worldly Wealth
MAC Moody Blooms Artistic License Eye Shadow Review
Product Type - pressed eye shadow
Finish - veluxe pearl
Shade - peachy pink with gold flash
On the Eye - slightly firm formula; moderate pigmentation; fantastic highlighter
Price - $15
My Thoughts - This shadow is slightly firmer than most veluxe pearl formulas (my favorite MAC shadow formula), but the pigmentation is still decent and the gold flash is stunning. Because of my coloring, the base melts into my skin and is less obvious, but makes an absolutely fantastic highlighter. I think this shade could easily work for both fair, medium and even deep complexions as a highlighter shade.
MAC Moody Blooms Hidden Motive Eye Shadow Review
Product Type - pressed eye shadow
Finish - veluxe pearl
Shade - eggplant purple with slightly red-purple flash
On the Eye - slightly firm formula; great pigmentation; very blendable
Price - $15
Where to Buy - Dillards.com MACCosmetics.com/MAC stores/counters
My Thoughts - This is a pretty purple and although the formula is slightly firmer than most veluxe pearl shadows, it blends really nicely. This shade doesn't have a super intense flash, but the subtle reddish purple sheen gives it a bit of depth.
MAC Moody Blooms Nightshade Fluidline Review
Product Type - gel liner
Finish - semi-metallic
Shade - blackened metallic purple
On the Eye - slightly thinner formula; applies nicely if you avoid too much pressure on brush during application; wears very well
Price - $16
Where to Buy - Nordstrom.com MACCosmetics.com/MAC stores/counters
My Thoughts - If MAC Beauty Marked waved a magic wand and turned itself into a fluidline this would be it! The second I swatched this it instantly reminded me of Beauty Marked (which happens to be a long-time favorite of mine)--same smoky deep base mixed with metallic purple. It's lovely and almost soft in nature as a result of its subtle rather than conspicuous metallic flecks. Like most MAC fluidlines, this wore beautifully without budging.
MAC Moody Blooms Gwi-Yo-Mi Sheen Supreme Lipglass Tint Review
Product Type - glossy lip tint that adjusts with body's PH
Finish - glossy
Shade - hot pink on brush; vibrant, translucent raspberry on my lips
Scent - MAC's traditional vanilla
On the Lips - glossy; super comfortable; not as stick as some glosses
Price - $20
My Thoughts - I think the PH adjusting pigments in these are so neat! While my swatches are obviously not necessarily going to look like what you see when you apply them, it's still fun to see the possibilities in my opinion. The formula on these is lovely--super creamy and a bit less sticky than some of MAC's stickiest glosses (though this never bothers me either way). This was incredibly comfortable to wear, slightly hydrating and lightweight. Thought up super close it looked as though some of the pigment may have settled in lip lines, it was not at all noticeable from a standing distance. I did have some slight staining with this shade.
MAC Moody Blooms Simply Wow Sheen Supreme Lipglass Tint Review
Product Type - glossy lip tint that adjusts with body's PH
Finish - glossy
Shade - radiant orchid on brush; creamy semi-translucent violet tinted pink on my lips
Scent - MAC's traditional vanilla
On the Lips - very even, creamy finish ; super comfortable; not as stick as some glosses
Price - $20
My Thoughts - This particular shade was a bit less translucent than Gwi-Yo-Mi and I found it appeared a bit creamier on my lips, though both were very smooth. This was very comfortable to wear and did not migrate on my lips or settle into lip lines. Super lovely!
MAC Moody Blooms Venomous Violet Sheen Supreme Lipstick Review
Product Type - glossy lip tint that adjusts with body's PH
Finish - moderately glossy
Shade - smoky plum
Scent - MAC's traditional vanilla
On the Lips - lighweight; very comfortable; slightly settled into lip lines, but not noticeable from a standing distance
Price - $17
Where to Buy - MACCosmetics.com/MAC stores/counters
My Thoughts - This is such an interesting color. Because it's semi-opaque, despite the fact it's a vampy color it is less harsh and somewhat softer in appearance. While it did slightly settle into lip lines, it wasn't noticeable from a standing distance and it somehow worked for this particular color! As usual, I found this sheen supreme formula to be very comfortable to wear. If you'd like to dip your toe in the vampy pool, this may be the perfect shade to begin with!
MAC Moody Blooms Worldly Wealth Blush Review
Product Type - pressed powder blush
Finish - frost
Shade - warm copper penny red-brown
On the Cheek - well pigmented; fairly high sheen somewhat metallic finish
Price - $21
My Thoughts - This is definitely not your traditional pink blush, but it is a great color for the right warm, medium complexion! I have a cool-neutral undertone so I personally found this color too warm for me, but I think many will find it's a fabulous summer shade. When I first swatched this, it reminded me a bit of Amber Lights (another long-time MAC favorite of mine), but this has more of a red-brown base and the two are not quite as closely related as I thought they might be. I think this is unique and worth a peak if you have a warm complexion and want a fun summer cheek color to give you a coppery glow.
Have you grabbed anything from Moody Blooms yet? Which products/shades are your favorite?

Early Christmas Shopping - Frozen Hide and Hug Olaf Elf on A Shelf
AFFILIATE LINKS
Yes, I know it's probably early for most to begin their Christmas shopping, but a friend of mine and fellow mom (thanks, Jessica!) just pointed to me that this adorable Elf on a Shelf style Frozen Hide-and-Hug Olaf
is available for preorder with a fabulous sale price! I love to do my Christmas shopping all year long--some sales are just too good to pass up ;)
I have 2 boys and both really enjoyed Frozen (so did I!), but my youngest is absolutely in love with Olaf! I just snapped this up and cannot wait to give it to him nearer to the holidays (releases Oct 28th). I'd assume, given the popularity of the movie, that this is going to be pretty popular when it comes out and given it's such a good price at 33% off ($18.21) I didn't want to wait.
Any other Frozen fans out there?
I loved it so much I even used its beautiful colors as inspiration for a tutorial last year!
Product Type - Elf on a Shelf style Olaf from Frozen set
Price - $26.99 (retail) currently on sale for $18.21 as preorder
Where to Buy - Frozen Hide-and-Hug Olaf
What a great way to kick off Christmas 2014 shopping!

Top 5 Face Moisturizers - My Picks for Summer 2014
I like to go naked in the summer ... when it comes to my face of course! As a result, my skin care routine is a big focus for me. Don't get me wrong, I'm a serious stickler year-round when it comes to my skin (as I'm sure you've all picked up), but I find that during the summer my needs change a little more frequently based on humidity, heat, sun exposure (despite the fact I completely limit mine), etc. I moisturize at least 2x per day all year round--once in a morning and once at night--but I find I switch up what I use on a more frequent basis during summer months. We tend to have both super humid and super dry days as well as super hot and mildly hot days. Some days I like SPF in my moisturizer and other days, if I'm actually going to be in the sun for any period of time, I'll choose to wear a separate, super strong sunblock over my moisturizer.
I thought it might be helpful to give you 5 of my top facial moisturizer picks for Summer 2014, in case you're currently on the hunt (as I always am) for the next best moisturizer. Hang on, new show idea! Next Top Moisturizer. Anyone want to call Tyra for me?
I've included 2 facial moisturizers meant for daytime use, 2 for night use (nothing better than sleeping while your moisturizer does all the heavy lifting) and 1 that's meant to be used during the night or day.

Top 5 Facial Moisturizers Summer 2014 Picks Review
AmorePacific Moisture Bound Sleeping Recovery Masque Review
Product Type - overnight moisturizer
Scent - fairly light feminine scent (lingers slightly on skin)
On the Skin - gel-like; super hydrating
Price - $60 (3.38 fl oz)
Where to Buy - Nordstrom.com Sephora.com
My Thoughts - If you want some deep hydration to plump up skin or repair tired, sun exposed skin ... oh my gosh is this stuff fabulous! It has a gel-like consistency which is cooling and lightweight--perfect for you guys/gals that don't like heavy moisturizers. Skin looks instantly more hydrated and supple after application, so you can imagine how fabulous it is after going to work for you all night long. I am super impressed by this fantastic moisturizer and highly recommend giving it a shot!
BIOELEMENTS Absolute Moisture Review
Product Type - day or night moisturizer for combo skin
Scent - unscented (virtually no scent
On the Skin - very hydrating; dries to an almost completely matte finish
Price - $33 (2.5 fl oz)
Where to Buy - bioelements.com
My Thoughts - Excuse me while I take this moisturizer into the other room and we get hot and heavy because this moisturizer has become one of my 2014 loves! It is unscented, so there's no chance it'll irritate even the pickiest of noses, and it works like an absolute dream. This stuff moisturized my mostly dry, sensitive skin so well and once it dried, my skin was almost completely matte! Not in a my-skin-is-trying-to-pull-itself-off-my-face way, but in a "hello, my skin is perfectly balanced at the moment and looks soft and lovely" kind of a way. I cannot gush enough about this moisturizer and I strongly suggest giving it a try. I have been eyeing some of Bioelements other moisturizers and it looks like they have a fabulous selection for a variety of skin types. Check them out!
Chella Day Dream Replenishing Hydrator SPF25 Review
Product Type - day cream for dry skin with spf 25
Scent - light, fresh citrus
On the Skin - instantly hydrating; spf 25 coverage; great for dry skin
Price - $85 (1.7 fl oz)
Where to Buy - chella.com
My Thoughts - I previously mentioned this moisturizer in another best-of list back in 2013 and there's a reason it's made a second appearance here. This moisturizer is absolutely fabulous for those with dry skin--especially in the summer! It offers spf 25 protection, hydrates beautifully and smells wonderful. This is basically everything you'd expect from a high-quality daily moisturizer in the summer!
Kaia 24hr Face Cream Review
Product Type - matte day cream (gluten-free, 100% natural)
Scent - unscented (slight natural scent, but nothing noticeable once applied)
On the Skin - hydrating on both combo and oily skin; dries matte
Price - $42 (1.7 fl oz)
Where to Buy - gaiam.com (I've been told this sells through Anthropologie as well, but unfortunately couldn't find this product on the site)
My Thoughts - This is another long-time favorite of mine! If you're the type that wants a natural moisturizer, you've got a gluten allergy or you simply want a fantastic matte moisturizer that gets the job done, this one is a must. Though it's a lovely thick cream it doesn't feel heavy on the skin once dry. This includes both Argan and Moringa oils, which are both "dry" oils, so this leaves skin 100% matte and not the least bit oily or greasy. Super fantastic and despite being a little difficult to find, well worth purchasing!
Korres Greek Yoghurt Advanced Nourishing Sleeping Facial Review
Product Type - overnight moisturizer
Scent - super light, fresh scent
On the Skin - super hydrating overnight; not super heavy feeling
Price - $45 (1.35 fl oz)
Where to Buy - Sephora.com Beauty.com
My Thoughts - You guys may recognize this from a feature I did on it last winter. I have since then gone through 2 jars in rotation with others! This is an amazing overnight moisturizer that leaves skin super soft and hydrated by morning. I absolutely love this and find it rejuvenates tired skin even after a day of miserable heat and humidity.

Lush Zeste Hair Gelly Review - Men's Grooming LUSH Summer 2014
Lush Zeste Hair Gelly.
Lush released 6 new products this summer--5 have alreadybeen reviewed on our website and this is the mysterious 6th product.
Lush has come out with a great new hair gelly. It has a very nice citrus scent
and has a medium to strong hold. It was developed with inspiration from the 70’s
hairstyles and punks. The formula is very simple. Like most LUSH products, the product list is fairly simple, which is always nice.
WHATS IN IT.
Glycerine , Fresh Organic Orange Juice (Citrus Aurantium dulcis) , Water , PVP , Fragrance , DRF Alcohol , Carrageenan Extract , Sweet Wild Orange Oil (Citrus sinensis) , Tagetes Oil (Tagetes minuta) ,Petitgrain Absolute (Citrus Aurantium amara) , Violet Leaf Absolute (Viola odorata) , Lilial , Geraniol ,Hydroxycitronellal , *Limonene , *Linalool
Price - $12.95 each
My Thoughts
This hair gelly is like no other out there. After extensive
testing I have found that this gelly will hold hair in its place for a solid 19
hour work day (no joke, I actually tested this). Seriously amazing! It has a
great orange scent--it is actually made with OJ. It does
not require much product to really hold all day. I primarily tested it with dry hair rather than damp hair as I found it worked best.
To get the right amount of product out onto my hands, I opened the
container and flipped the tub upside down, shaking it two times with my hand over the opening. Then I flipped the tub upright and I found this left enough product
on my hands to work into my hair with day-long hold. If you use too much it will
leave your hair looking wet and hair will feel slightly stiff to the touch. I personally experienced no flakiness/crunchiness with this product at all even
after it dried. I found I was able to touch my hair throughout the day without
having to fix what I had styled in the morning. Overall, I would say this is
the best hair gel I have ever used hands-down. I would and will recommend this
to everyone and their brother and I will get more when it's gone.
