Karmin is a Canadian brand that produces professional hair tools such as straighteners, blow dryers, curlers, etc.
Karmin reached out to me this spring about reviewing their pro styling iron and I jumped at the chance! You know how difficult my crazy, thick, textured hair is. I love trying out new hair products and hot tools to try to get it to bend to my will--or at least look remotely under control.

My Thoughts - For those of you new to my blog, I have incredibly thick, textured, Asian hair. It has a mind of its own and can be very difficult to style as it rarely holds unless I use super high-quality tools and products. This styling iron rocked my socks!
I was absolutely stunned by how quickly this styling iron heated up! I have been using straighteners for a very long time and had may, but never have I had one that heated up almost instantly and maintained heat so well. The tiny dial (shown above) is located on the inner portion of one side of the iron. It's easy to set the heat and a red blinking light adjacent to the heat dial indicates it is heating up and stops once it's hot. While I've had straighteners that were 1" thick in the past, because of the thickness of my hair I tend to opt for thicker ones. I am absolutely floored by how well this slim iron out-performed my wider ones! One pass through my hair was enough to make it as straight and sleek as I've ever seen it--without frying it! I used this iron several times to both straighten and curl/flip my hair and it worked beautifully for all purposes, leaving my hair super shiny and silky looking
In addition to an amazing experience with the styling iron itself, I have to mention the case it comes in! The exterior portion of the bag is a roll with a magnetic enclosure and a velcro strip on the inside that fixes to the actual zip-up pouch that the styling iron sits in. The styling iron fits perfectly--cord and all--in the pouch and once zipped, rolls nicely into the exterior. This is easily the sleekest hot tool storage/traveling set up I've ever seen! I have other special bags and pouches for my hot tools, but they tend to be bulky or awkward, which can be a pain when traveling. This is absolutely fantastic!
All in all, I'm absolutely blown away by Karmin's G3 Salon Pro Professional Styling Iron. Whether you have incredibly difficult, textured hair like me or easy-to-style hair this is a must in my opinion. Simply phenomenal!
I shared the following picture on instagram after using this to straighten my hair earlier in the day (this was after a full day of running around like a nut). It took just a few minutes to style that morning--super impressive, especially given how hot and humid it's been. Usually in this weather I'm battling an Asian fro!

Very nice! I've never tried a professional flat iron, but I do iron my hair nearly every day. I love the Hello Kitty pattern in your background! haha

ReplyDeleteI sadly don't get to spend much time working on my hair, and I'm lucky if I can blow dry it. :( Now that it is starting to get longer, the ends are wanting to curl so I'm either going to have to spend more time with it or cut it off again. lol
I've been there! Even with my little guys no longer being babies/toddlers I don't have as much time as I did pre-kids to get ready in the morning ;) The fact that this heats up so quickly and maintains heat so well made styling work even in my rushed schedule--which is always a plus lol.
