Olay Profile
Olay is a veteran beauty brand, established in the 50s by Graham Wulff for his wife, carried at a number of drugstores and big box stores such as Target and Walmart. Olay's primary focus has always been on skincare, though they offer hair removal and cleansing products as well.
I was recently given the opportunity by POPSUGAR and Olay to review the new Olay Fresh Effects Dew Over! hydrating gel moisturizer. As a busy work-at-home mom and blogger with dry, sensitive skin I'm always looking for new face moisturizers that give me that fresh "I got my beauty sleep last night" look--despite the fact it's rarely true!

Olay Fresh Effects Dew Over! Gel Moisturizer Review
Product Type
This is a light-weight gel moisturizer meant to instantly hydrate skin and last for up to 24 hours, giving you that well-rested glow.
How to Apply
According to the packaging (which you can see below), this is meant to be applied liberally to the face and neck when skin needs a boost of hydration. It is not meant to be applied to or in the eyes. I generally apply moisturizer in the morning after cleansing and at night after cleansing.
Scent
This had a fresh scent to it that faded fairly quickly with application, but a hint of it lingered on the skin.On the Face
This was incredibly light-weight and while it didn't have a tacky gel feel, there was a smooth, light, gel-like quality to it. This had a decent amount of slip to it during application--more so than an average moisturizer in my opinion. Because of the little bit of extra slip, I instantly associated it with what I typically see in moisturizers that contain silicone and sure enough it does (dimethicone). It absorbed well without leaving any residue behind, but it did take a few extra seconds to dry down fully. Skin appeared instantly and noticeably hydrated with application. Skin was both smoother and more supple in look and feel. I personally felt as though a small amount of product hydrated a large area.

Final Thoughts
This is a very effective moisturizer. If you prefer light-weight face moisturizers then this is absolutely one worth trying if you want to achieve that well-rested, fresh-faced look. It does have a noticeable fragrance that lingers slightly (but not unpleasantly) on the skin. I did feel as though a small amount of product went a long way, which is always nice even though the price point on this particular product is very budget-friendly. I'm not sure I'd personally use this at night as I prefer a slightly heavier moisturizer in the evening, but it is definitely what I look for in terms of a day cream.
I have a sister in Japan who absolutely adores gel moisturizers and I can see why!

Would you try this moisturizer? What do you look for in a face cream?
