beautisol exscrub me citrus face exfoliant review

Beautisol Profile

Founded by Sinead Norenius, who also happens to be the founder of ifabbo, Beautisol is a brand best known for their popular cruelty-free self-tanning products.

I was recently given the opportunity to review Beautisol's Exscrub Me? citrus face exfoliant. Prior to being given this opportunity I was unaware Beautisol offered exfoliating products separate from their kits, but I was interested to give it a try as I assumed a company that has developed such popular self-tanning products would have to do a decent pre-tan exfoliating system as well.

Beautisol Exscrub Me? Citrus Face Exfoliant Review

Product Type

This is a facial scrub meant to exfoliate all skin types. A small amount is meant to be applied to damn facial skin in a circular motion. It is cruelty-free and paraben-free.

Scent

This had a slight grapefruit scent with something else that I couldn't quite identify.

On the Face

The first thing I noticed about this scrub was its appearance. It had a white base with small, red beads that reminded me a bit of frosting with sprinkles in it--little things like that always thrill me.

As I've mentioned in the past, I have very sensitive, semi-dry skin. I exfoliate every 3 days or so in addition to my normal skin care routine. The base of this exfoliant was incredibly abrasive, so unfortunately it was too much for my skin. As soon as I began to apply it I could instantly feel it was too much for my skin and had to remove it. If you do not have sensitive skin or you're looking for a strong exfoliant then this would definitely be along the lines of what you'd want and I think it would be quite effective. That being said, it worked very well on my hands, which are less sensitive than my face. This rinsed off easily and did not leave a film or residue.

Final Thoughts

I wish my skin wasn't as sensitive and I could have used this a few times prior to reviewing. I understand that this is meant for all skin types, but I think if you have very sensitive skin like I do that you may want to be careful about using this exfoliant. I think it could be fabulous for someone with less sensitive skin and I definitely found it worked well on other areas such as my hands.

Are you familiar with Beautisol? Have you tried the brand's exfoliants?

  1. I love the idea of exfoliating your hands. Sometimes we forget that our skin extends beyond our faces!
