I somehow managed to leave Cabaret Blend out of this pic!

For Spring, they've released a number of fabulous lip products including these Power Lip lippies. These are releasing this month and I know some stores have already been seen carrying them.

Milani Power Lip Lasting & Moisturizing Gloss Stain Spring 2014 Swatches and Review

Product Type

These are gloss stains that come in a twist-up tube with a built-in brush.

Scent/Flavor

These really didn't have much of a scent and no flavor.

Shades

I received 3 shades--Cabaret Blend, Macaroon, Mango Tango.

On the Lip

These had a semi-gloss finish once they set. I found Mango Tango and Macaroon to be completely opaque, while Cabaret Blend was semi-sheer, but fairly buildable. These were comfortable to wear and I didn't find them to be drying. I did find it a little hard to achieve an even application with the built-in brush as with most gloss pens, the brush is a bit stiff. I suggest pressing your lips together to achieve an even layer after application. These did stain as the name suggests, so keep that in mind. I had to twist each up quite a bit before they dispensed product, but once I got them going they seemed to dispense product with each click or 2. I did not have any feathering with any of these.

Please note: It has always been my policy not to note wear length as I personally have unusually short wear-time with all lip product due to the texture of my skin unless I use additional product and techniques--which would not result in an accurate review.

Final Thoughts

I like these quite a bit! While I wish they had a pleasant scent to them, I'm glad they aren't unpleasantly scented given my sensitive nose. I'm not the biggest fan of this type of packaging as I rarely like the built-in brush, but with a little extra effort it's fairly easy to achieve an even coat of gloss stain. The colors are nice and the fact that these did not feather on me is great!

For the price, I think these are great Spring lippies and I recommend getting at least 1 or 2 if you can find them.

What do you think? Did any of these shades catch your eye?

    1. These are definitely a budget-friendly way to give a formula like this a try! I'm seeing a lot of companies releasing similar products this year (and MAC actually did one large collection similar to this a year or so ago) so you'll probably see additional brands with similar stuff on my blog as the year progresses!
