Rouge Bunny Rouge Time Defying Foundation Swatch and Review in Quinoa Cream

Product Type

This is meant to be a medium to full coverage foundation with skin beneficial qualities. While I can't speak of the age-defying properties, I will relay my experience working with and wearing this foundation below.

Shade

Quinoa Cream is a slightly pink-leaning light beige. It is probably one of the most complementary light beiges I've ever  seen straight out of the bottle. This was 1/2 to 1 shade too light for my complexion, but I was able to make it work with sheerer application. I'd be interested to try the 2 shades deeper than this one--Wheat Cream and Barley Cream--to see how their depths and undertones compare and translate onto the skin. This color was a perfect match for one of my younger sisters who is a bit more fair. Like me, she has difficulty finding foundations that don't skew too warm, too yellow or too pink. My fellow Asian girls and anyone else with unique beige complexions, try this foundation asap!

Coverage

This has great buildable coverage. I found it could be sheered out or applied a bit heavier for medium-full coverage, though I wouldn't say this offers 100% full coverage on its own for those looking to completely hide things such as obvious beauty marks, dark scars, etc. It does a beautiful job of completely evening out skin tone with even the most sheer coverage. If you tend to get blotchy (especially in this cold weather) this will give you a perfectly even complexion. I was incredibly impressed.

Application

This applies like a dream. The consistency is spot-on what I look for in a liquid foundation--not too runny, not too thick, smooth, etc. I found using my Wayne Goss foundation brush, this offered the most exquisite application both on myself and others. Phenomenal.

On the Face

I found this wore well both on those with dry/combo skin and normal skin while testing it. It also worked well on both youthful and slightly aging skin. I was not able to test this on acne-prone or oily skin. It did not oxidize at all, did not dry out or get cakey and remained intact with proper application throughout the day. It did not cause any irritation on my sensitive skin. It is extremely light-weight feel. The finish is not totally matte and flat, but rather looks like natural, bright, living skin.

I actually used this foundation in both of the New Year's Eve looks I published earlier this year. You can see how flawless it makes my complexion look. Both pictures were taken in natural (snowy winter) light and were not retouched.

Final Thoughts

As you all know, I am insanely picky when it comes to foundation. Very little impresses me from every angle and I often find that where one formula will excel in one area, it may fail in another. This is easily one of the most impressive foundations I have worked with. The formula is amazing, the application is easy, the finish is beautiful and the wear is amazing. I wholeheartedly recommend that anyone looking for a new foundation consider seeing if one of the shades Rouge Bunny Rouge offers sounds as though it may match his/her complexion. I hope they release additional colors as their foundation is too great not to include a wider spectrum so those with deeper complexions can give it a whirl.

After my experience with their Time Defying Foundation Quinoa Cream, I'm interested to see how a few of the other shades compare in the Time Defying Foundation Line. I'm also curious about their Milk Aquarelle formula as I've heard it's a similar, but sheerer version.

As you can tell, I'm impressed!

What do you think? Will you be giving Rouge Bunny Rouge a try?

    1. Thank you! I made it work with some bronzer and contouring, but ideally I'd go up 1/2 a shade to a full shade in depth :) Amazing formula and color regardless!!!
