Moody Sisters Organic Skincare Profile

Moody Sisters is a natural skincare line developed and handmade in fresh weekly batches by 2 sisters based in Washington state. Inspired by their own struggles to find the right skin care for their differing needs, they've created a line of products for those suffering from anything from eczema to acne--and everything in between. Their products are natural, toxic chemical-free and paraben-free.

I've reviewed some of their products in the past and recently receive a couple of their tinted lip balms to review.

Moody Sister Organic Skincare Rose Tinted Lip Balm Review

Product Type

This is a tinted lip balm made with natural and organic ingredients.

Shade

In the tube, Rose Tinted is a super deep crimson. On the lips, it is a semi-sheer raisin.

Scent/Flavor

Mine had a slight scent to it, though I think it was primarily the base ingredients I was smelling. Not at all unpleasant and slightly sweet to the smell. This had no detectable flavor.

Ingredients

Beeswax, Oil Blend (Sweet Almond Oil, Sunflower Oil, Apricot Kernel Oil), Shea Butter, *Coconut Oil, *Cocoa Butter, Vitamin E, Essential Oils (* denotes organic)

On the Lips

This glided on smoothly for the most part, but I did find that tiny bits of the wax in the base transferred onto my lips in little grains. They were easy enough to smooth out and melt into my lips, but it did take a teeny bit of extra effort. These are just as hydrating and comfortable on the lips as the non-tinted lip balms I've tried from Moody Sisters.

Moody Sisters Organic Skincare Berry Tinted Lip Balm Review

Product Type

Like the Rose Tinted lip balm, this is a tinted lip balm made of organic and natural ingredients.

Shade

This is a incredibly deep blackened maroon in the tube. On the lips it is almost completely sheer with only the slightest hint of barely-there maroon. This also provided a subtle gloss even on my barely pigmented lips.

Scent/Flavor

I can primarily detect the base ingredients in this along with a slight sweetness. There is no discernible flavor.

Ingredients

Beeswax, Oil Blend (Sweet Almond Oil, Sunflower Oil, Apricot Kernel Oil), Shea Butter, *Coconut Oil, *Cocoa Butter, Vitamin E, Essential Oils (* denotes organic)

 On the Lips

This is as comfortable and hydrating as Rose Tinted. I was surprised by how little color this offered, but it may be a great choice for those that wish to use a natural gloss with very little color!

Final Thoughts

I am a big fan of Moody Sisters in general and I like that they offer tinted lip balms in addition to their regular lip balms. If you're looking for something with a bit more color I'd recommend Rose Tinted, but if you'd prefer a barely-there tint then Berry Tinted is definitely for you. I love how simple and natural the ingredients are in these (along with all of Moody Sisters' products). I definitely recommend checking out what they have to offer!

Are you looking for some fabulous lip care in this cold/dry weather? Have you tried Moody Sisters before?
