MAC Antonio Lopez

Antonio Lopez Fuchsia Lip Palette

MAC recently released their collaborative collection with Antonio Lopez, which included a number lovely products. Of all the items in this collection, the fuchsia lip palette called to me the most! While 2 of the shades are permanent (Candy Yum-Yum and Violetta) and I happen to own them both, the fun packaging and convenience factors won me over.

As with all of my lipstick swatches (except those in sets), swatches below were done on my bare lips without liner.

Price

This retails for $27.50

Where to Buy

As of the time of this post this palette is still available on MAC's site HERE

MAC lip palette review
L to R: Candy Yum-Yum, Moxie, Violetta

MAC Candy Yum-Yum Swatch & Review

MAC Candy Yum-Yum Swatch
MAC Candy Yum-Yum no liner

Shade

Candy Yum-Yum is a a bright blue-based pink with a matte finish. I actually think it's a bit brighter when applied from the tube with a brush than it translates on my lips when applied from the palette with a brush. I'm not sure if the formula is a bit less pigmented in the palette than the tube, but I noticed a slight difference, though both the palette and tube are gorgeous--according to the pink lipstick addict (me)! This is a permanent color.

Application

Application was smooth and it was easy to achieve even coverage (without liner) with 2 coats.

Wear

Because this is a matte it was a tiny bit dehydrating to me, but not nearly as dehydrating as the average retro matte.

MAC Moxie Swatch & Review

MAC Moxie Swatch
MAC Moxie no liner

Shade

Moxie is a medium pink-red with a matte finish. This is a repremote.

Application

This applied as nicely as Candy Yum-Yum and I was able to achieve full coverage with 2 coats and no liner.

Wear

This was a bit more dehydrating than Candy Yum-Yum, but with the use of a liner underneath, it would be far more comfortable to wear.

MAC Violetta Swatch & Review

MAC Violetta Swatch
MAC Violetta no liner

Shade

Violetta is a shimmery violet. On my lips it translated a bit darker than in the palette. This is a permanent color.

Application

Violetta has a fairly thin formula that is less pigmented than many of MAC's other lipsticks. I highly recommend that you layer this over a complementary liner or lipstick for a brighter effect. If you simply want a deeper violet wash of color, then you could easily wear this on its own.

Wear

This is a very light-weight formula. It is not dehydrating like a matte, but it is not hydrating either.

Final Thoughts

I love this palette! I love the packaging (yes, I am a sucker for packaging) and I love the lip colors. I told myself I could only buy it on the condition that I put it in my purse to save some space and I fully intend to do just that. If you like these lipstick colors I absolutely suggest you grab it before it's no longer available!

I did not use the small lip brush because I'm actually quite picky about my lip brushes (as that is the only thing I use to apply lip products to my lips).

Did you pick anything up from the MAC Antonio Lopez collection? What do you think of this palette?

    1. Moxie is limited edition and a repromote (released as a limited edition in a prior collection), so right now it can only be purchased in this palette BUT as this isn't the first time we've seen it I wouldn't be surprised if MAC releases it in a tube some day again so if you don't want the entire palette you can keep an eye on upcoming collections :)

    1. It seems to be quite popular ;) I really love all 3 (which is a given I suppose since I already owned 2 of the 3 shades lol)
