Jordana 12 Hr Made to Last Eyeshadow Pencils & Liquid Eyeliner Pencils Swatches & Review

Products in this post were provided by PR/the brand

I was recently given the opportunity to review some products from the drugstore brand Jordana. This post will consist of eyeshadow and eyeliner pencils, with lip and mascara products to follow shortly!

Jordana 12 Hr Made to Last Eyeshadow Pencil Swatches & Review

Jordana Eyeshadow Pencils L to R: 02 Stay-on Black, 04 Continuous Almond, 07 Prolong Purple, 01 Eternal White

Shades

02 Stay-On Black - deep matte black

01 Eternal White - matte white

04 Continuous Almond - matte light beige

07 Prolong Purple - metallic deep violet-plum with teeny reflective flecks

Application

These eyeshadow pencils are creamy, soft and easy to apply straight from the pencil or using a paddle brush. I found it easy to layer these on to build up the color to the intensity I wanted--though they're pretty pigmented to start. All of these could be used as bases with powder product patted over them or on their own.

Blending

I found these fairly easy to blend if I worked quickly on one eye at a time. They do not set immediately like other eyeshadow pencils I have worked with in the past, but you don't want to wait too long as these are pretty budge-proof once they set.

Wear

These wear pretty well. Once they set there is minimal to moderate fading throughout the day. I did get some creasing along the fold on my upper lid.

Price

These retail for $3.99.

Where to Buy

These can be purchased directly through Jordana's site HERE or through drugstores/stores that carry Jordana.

My Thoughts

These are impressive, especially for drugstore products at this price. They are on-par with a lot of eyeshadow pencils I have worked with, though not quite as budge-proof long-term as some of the most popular high-end ones I've used. I love that 3 of these shades are matte as it can be hard to find decent matte eye products. Wear on these is reasonable, especially for the price tag. I think Continuous Almond and Eternal White may be great budget-friendly alternatives for a couple eye products popularly recommended as bases (MAC Soft Ochre and NYX Milk - both of which have big cult followings). These are definitely worth a shot if you can get your hands on them!

Jordana 12 HR Made to Last Liquid Eyeliner Pencil Swatches & Review

Jordana Liquid Eyeliner Pencil L to R: 01 Black Point, 05 Aqua Stone

Shades

01 Black Point - Semi-glossy deep black

05 Aqua Stone - Metallic blue-leaning aqua

Application

These are incredibly smooth and creamy. They apply well, but because they are so soft you'll have to take a little extra care if you want to achieve a thin line right from the pencil (rather than using a liner brush). 01 Black Point is incredibly pigmented. 05 Aqua Stone is also pigmented, but because of its metallic formula it provided slightly less coverage with 1 pass--still very good though.

Wear

These wear pretty well on the lid. I experienced a little bleeding on my waterline, but it seemed to stay fairly budge-proof when tightlining. Because of the shape of my eyes (which are almond) I tend to get bleeding in the outer corners, but if this isn't a problem for you, you may find you get longer wear-time without bleeding.

Price

These retail for $2.49.

Where to Buy

These can be purchased directly from Jordana's site HERE or at any drugstore/store that carries Jordana.

My Thoughts

For the price, these are pretty great! They're not quite as budge-proof as I need for my waterline, but I think for many these may work well. They are very soft and smooth with absolutely no tugging (which is a must for me), which makes them pleasant to work with. Because they are so soft you may find you need to take extra care to apply a thin line directly from the pencil, but it's not a bad trade-off. All in all I'm very impressed with these given their super budget-friendly price.

Jordana Pencils in Action

I wanted to show you how some of these look in action! Here's what I used:
  • Jordana 12 HR Made to Last Eyeshadow Pencil in 02 Stay-On Black - upper lid, blended out in crease
  • Jordana 12 HR Made to last Liquid Eyeliner Pencil in 01 Black Point - tightlining and lower waterline
  • Jordana 12 HR Made to Last Liquid Eyeliner Pencil in 05 Aqua Stone - below lower lashline
Super simple, but great for fall if you're in a rush! Most noticeable near the outer corners of my eyes in these pictures, I was easily able to blend out the edges of 02 Stay-On Black

Have you tried any of these Jordana pencils? Which is your favorite color?
