I am a serious makeup addict (as you may have guessed), so my makeup collection is substantial. I wanted to use this organizer to store the makeup I currently have in rotation for daily use as well as products I reach for frequently (lip gloss, primer, setting spray, etc.). I've shared a bunch of pictures below so that you can get an idea of how much you can fit in individual drawers as well as in The Princess model in general. Below I will discuss my experience in using this as well as any pros or cons.

I organized my drawers in the eDiva Princess the same way I organize my larger storage drawers (by product type). As you'll see below, I chose to use the extra deep drawer on the bottom to store palettes instead of polish as I always store my polish on racks separate from my makeup. I'll start from the top and work my way down.

This is a view from the top. As you can see, the edges of the top are rounded and the brand's name is featured.

Drawer 1: eye products ranging from eye liner to a few product I use for bases, mascara to falsies, etc.

Drawer 2: prep and primer products.

Drawer 3: foundations

Drawer 4: cheek products--blush, bronzer, highlighter, etc.

Drawer 5: lip products (gloss, liquid lipsticks only)

Drawer 6: palettes

Types of Makeup Products This is Best Suited For

This is fairly easy to use when storing flat products such as palettes, compacts, small jars/pots, small tubes, pencil, etc. If you do not want to store bottles on their sides (and they're not super small bottles) this may not suit your needs in storing those products.

Overall Appearance

I like the way this looks overall. It's not a cheap looking acrylic organizer and the rounded edges on top make it more aesthetically pleasing. The outer edges are not sharp (drawer edges are not rounded, but I didn't find them to be a problem) and all of the edges and seams look finished. I hate it when you practically slice your hand open reaching for something in an acrylic organizer--ouch! I love that you can see through this piece as it makes it easy to view what's in each drawer.

Drawers

Drawers pull out all the way, which makes it easy to access products in the back of the drawers (make sure you don't pull them all the way out unless you have a hand underneath them as there is nothing to prevent them from coming all the way out). The depth on the top 5 drawers is reasonable enough to stack a couple thin products (boxes of falsies, shadow palettes, etc.). The bottom drawer was deep enough that I was able to stack 2 duo and 2 large pro MAC palettes on top of each other. It was deep enough that I was able to store some slimmer palettes in the back and large Zpalette/MAC palettes in the front. It was wide enough that I could place my palettes (Zpalette and MAC) palettes next to each other.

While most of the drawers slid easily in and out of the organizer, my top drawer would not go in unless I lifted it slightly. You can see below that it doesn't quite match up and hits the drawer below. I would assume that this is completely random and not characteristic of all of the units eDiva produces, but my unit came this way.

As you can see, the top drawer is unable to completely close unless it is lifted because it hits the drawer below

"X" Dividers

I did not take pictures with the "x" dividers because I personally would not use them simply because of the types of products I stored in this unit. If you are storing nail polish or other small, upright items they may certainly come in handle, but as you can see from the images above, that is not how I used this unit. This did come with 1 "x" divider for each drawer including a deeper set for the bottom drawer.

Final Thoughts

Overall, my experience with the eDiva Princess acrylic makeup organizer was positive. While my collection is obviously far too large to store in one unit like this, it held an ample volume of the products I currently use on a daily basis. I love that you can see through it and I think the details of this organizer (founded edge, finished seams, etc.) give it a more expensive, pleasant look than other acrylic organizers I have seen. This is also substantially thicker than other organizers I have seen and definitely very sturdy. I love that I can store palettes in this! I tend to use palettes far more than individual compacts when it comes to shadows and about as much when it comes to highlighters, contour, etc. I use a mix of cream and liquid foundations so some of my foundations come in palettes as well. As you can imagine ... I have a lot of palettes! It is rare that I find something (aside from drawers that sit on the floor) that can fit them--huge plus.

The only downside, and this is perhaps something eDiva will consider in the future, is that it is impossible to store upright lipstick tubes in anything but the deepest drawer. I am a huge lipstick hoarder. The reason I filled my lippy drawer with tubes and pencils is because I like to be able to see the shade names of my lipsticks when I look in the drawers they're stored in. If eDiva did another model with deeper drawers I would be all over it for my lipstick collection! The other small downside was the top drawer not sliding smoothly into the unit. Again, I would assume that this isn't a common problem and simply an issue with my unit.

I think this is a great organizer for those with the budget for it who are looking for a sturdy, larger makeup organizer that can hold a variety of smaller or flatter products. And if you're like me and love your palettes, definitely consider looking into the Princess model! I think ideally for those with larger collections like myself, you can either use 1 to store some of your most-used products or purchase several over time to store all but your most precious and large products.

What do you think? Is this something you would be able to use to help organize your cosmetics?

  1. I agree with you - for makeup lovers/hoarders alike - this is NOT enough space. However, it is GREAT for storing everyday stuff - which is what I do. My son LOVES my organizer for driving his cars. Silly boys! :P

  3. This holds so much! However, for that price I'd be bummed out if the drawer didn't close right! I love seeing all of your lip products! =)

    1. Yeah, I would assume if anyone purchased one and it closed like mine did that they would replace it without question :) LOL well sadly those aren't all my lip products, but a decent view of a handful of glosses and liquid lipsticks! All my lipsticks in regular tubes and a bunch of glosses are in their normal drawers in my larger storage ;) Me = makeup hoarder!

    1. The bottom drawer is made for polish bottles, but I see what you mean ;) Perhaps in the future they'll offer one with all deeper drawers like I mentioned in my post!
