Fortune Cookie Soap Magic is Coming Review & Giveaway!

All of the products in this post were purchased by me

You guys know by now that I'm a huge fan of Fortune Cookie Soap and their amazing bath products and soaps! I recently reviewed items from their Christmas in July collection (which you can view HERE) and today I'm reviewing part of the Magic is Coming collection (and giving away 2 pieces from this collection). As soon as this collection was announced a while back I began counting down the days--I love fairy tales and I've been a fan of the show Once Upon a Time (which inspired the collection). I'm still hoping a Grimm-themed collection will launch eventually as well!

I purchased the following products, which look as though they're still available on the site! I've also posted a giveaway for 2 of the products below.

Chesire Cat Don't Be Jelly Soap

Product Type

This is a jelly soap.

Scent

Chocolate-raspberry

Price

This retails for $6.99

Where to Buy

It looks as though this may still be available as of the moment I wrote this post HERE

My Thoughts

As you can see, mine arrived a solid color, which I'm guessing happened in shipping (silly heat). Regardless, it's a fun product that reminds me of a firm-version of gak that just happens to be a soap! My little guys are beyond excited to give this baby a whirl--so is Patrick lol. I'm not sure I've ever seen or used a jelly soap before so this was one of the products I purchased a second of for my giveaway below! Besides, who doesn't love the Chesire Cat?

Fortune Cookie Soap Don't Drink Me Bath Oil

Product Type

This is a fun bath oil that was developed to disperse into your bath rather than remain separated like most bath oils.

Scent

This smells to me like berries and cream with some orange in it. It's kind of complex to me, so hard to break down! It's a pleasant smell though.

Price

This retails for $16.99.

Where to Buy

As of the time of this post, I believe this is still available for purchase HERE

My Thoughts

I am so anxious to try this! I love the idea that it actually mixes with your water. I'm a big fan of bath oils, so this was a must for me! And who can pass up that bottle?

Fortune Cookie Soap Enchanted Apple Bath Bomb

Product Type

This is a bath bomb

Scent

This reminds me of apple blossoms. It's apple-y and sweet, but very pleasant (granted I'm from New England so all things apples tend to appeal to me).

Price

This is priced at $7.95 retail.

Where to Buy

As of the time of this post it looks to still be available HERE

My Thoughts

As you can see, my apple lost most of its glitter in shipping, which is odd because I've purchased a million glittery things from Fortune Cookie Soap and they've never lost their glitter before. It could be that mine were treated roughly in shipping as both of mine arrived this way--that's right I purchased a second for my giveaway below for you guys! Either way, it smells lovely and since the boys aren't huge fans of glitter in their baths it works for me that it isn't as covered in glitter as originally intended. Such a cute addition to the collection in my opinion.

Fortune Cookie Soap Captain Hook Solid Bubble Bath

Product Type

This is a solid bubble bath bar.

Scent

You can smell the marine scent alongside a sweet wood and perhaps a melon of some kind? Definitely a more complex scent, but nice.

Price

This retails for $6.95.

Where to Buy

As of the time of this post it looks to be available HERE

Final Thoughts

I really like this collection and the rest of my family is dying to dig in to everything here! Of all the products I think the Don't Drink Me bath oil is my favorite and my little guys are most intrigued by the Captain Hook solid bubble bath. Patrick wants to try the Cheshire Cat Don't Be Jelly soap. All in all, despite some little things that look as though they're the result of shipping, I love this collection and I'm so excited to be able to hold a small giveaway for you guys with 2 of the items I thought would be most popular. I think these are worth a try if you like the show Once Upon a Time or you're just dying for some fun new bath items and don't mind a little magical glitter!

Now, on to the giveaway!

Fortune Cookie Soap Magic is Coming Giveaway

As soon as I heard about this collection I knew I wanted to do a small giveaway with a few pieces--mostly because I've been a lifelong  fairy tales fan and I like the show Once Upon a Time! I chose 2 pieces from the collection that I thought would be the most fun and potentially ship well (I would have loved to ship the bath oil but honestly, I could see that going poorly for me lol).

The prize for the giveaway includes:

  • Chesire Cat Don't Be Jelly soap
  • Enchante Apple bath bomb
This giveaway is open internationally! Please read all of the fine print at the bottom of the giveaway prior to entering. The winner will be randomly drawn and verified prior to being announced, so please make sure you perform all of the mandatory actions and check your email when the giveaway ends!

  4. I'm hoping I win just so I can finally use some FCS products (other than Pinch of Grinch which smells AMAZING and sucks as a moisturizer). LOVE ALL THESE! I checked out her instagram...a Catching Fire collection is in the works? I'm so all over that like brown on rice! I just have to re-read it.
I want to know how the Captain Hook bathbomb goes and your personal verdict on the Cheshire Cat soap. Actually despite loving the Cheshire Cat (it's the colours Disney gave him, he's magnificent! I need a good hot/neon pink that won't stain, or stain too badly, to do a Cheshire Cat look of pink and purple! Magnificat!) I don't believe I have ever seen the or Tim Burton films and definitely haven't read it. I had this weird cartoon movie when I was a kid about a 10yo named Alice who wandered into looking glass land. Weird ass cartoon...she met C Biscuit. Not Seabiscuit but Charlie Biscuit, a talking horse.
Anyway this is so freaking awesome! Dig the apple bomb too!

  7. My all time favorite fairy tale character is Snow White, but in OUAT my favorite has totally been a toss up between Sheriff Graham (huntsman.. sooooo super hot heh) and Rumple.

  8. Do you know if their glitter dissolves in the bath or do you come out sparkly?

    1. The glitters are extremely small-hex glitters that don't dissolve but rinse off (from my experience). I always say that I don't recommend the glitter-covered ones for people that don't want to walk away with some possible glitter here and there because from my experience, I often end up with a little bit stuck to me :) We have had soaps with glitters that haven't coated my hands in glitter after rinsing, but if you're like my husband who HATES glitter in his stuff ... better safe than sorry imo!

  13. My favorite fairy tale character would be the frog prince. Not a typical character but my aunt always said someday your prince will come (I'm still waiting) and she passed away so I have a tattoo of a frog prince. I didn't do the twitter entries because I had to delete my account it kept getting hacked. I hate not having as many entries but the hacking was a mess over and over again
