Chella Hydrating Cleanser Lush Balm & Day Cream Replenishing Hydrator SPF 25 For Dry Skin Reviews

Products in this review were provided by PR/the brand

Those of you that have followed me for some time know I have both sensitive skin and dry skin (sometimes it's a little combo in my T-zone). Let's be serious ... my skin is kind of needy! I am always on the hunt for new skin care because it's so hard for me to find stuff that works really well. For every skin care product I love I come across at least 4-5 I don't. I was given the opportunity to review some Chella products prior (see my original review HERE), both of which I enjoyed. So when I was given the opportunity to review 2 additional Chella products I was beyond excited! I chose the following products because I find that as summer turns to fall it's hard to find skin care products that transition with you--something light, yet hydrating; cleansing, yet gentle.

Chella Hydrating Cleanser Lush Balm (All Skin Types)

Product Type

Facial cleanser

Product Claims (according to brand)

This hydrating cleanser supports skin's fragile, all important lipid barrier to nurture and keep hydration in while removing make-up, oils and skin impurities. Upon contact with warm water,  this blissful balm cleanser transforms into a light, citrus kissed emulsion that is easily rinsed off.  Leaves skin supple, clean and with a super plush finish.

Scent

This has a really pleasant orange-like scent to it.

Application

Wet your face with warm water, apply a small scoop of the balm onto your face with circular motions, then rinse. This doesn't foam the way a foaming facial cleanser does, but it smooths over your skin very nicely.

Cleansing

I found that this cleansed my skin well and removed all but my most incredibly budge-proof makeup (which requires special makeup remover).

Price

This is priced at $50 retail.

Where to Buy

This can be purchased directly from Chella on their site HERE

My Thoughts

I really love this cleanser! First of all, the scent is so lovely to me and I love how gentle it is. While I wouldn't go without moisturizer after using it, it definitely leaves my skin feeling very soft. The consistency of this product is almost like an ultra-smooth, creamy orange paste. It's very interesting and totally suits the term "balm". All in all it's great for those that want a gentle cleanser that tend to invest in their skin care, in my opinion.

Chella Day Cream Replenishing Hydrator SPF 25 (Dry Skin)

Product Type

Daytime face cream

Product Claims (according to brand)

This ultra beneficial day cream contains the newest thing under the sun, Silasoma® - a silk protein, full-spectrum barrier that blocks UV damage of all kinds without irritation. Add in a daily dose of vitamins, regenerating amino acids, grape seed and evening primrose oils and you’ll see glowing skin that actually creates more collagen and retains more moisture.

Scent

This has a fresh, lightly floral scent.

Application

This smooths so nicely into your skin! It dries completely within 5 minutes, but as it's meant for dry skin I find it leaves my skin hydrated without being shiny. It does not leave your skin with a greasy feel once it's completely dried either.

Moisturizing

I found this to be moisturizing enough to wear comfortably during the day without feeling as though my skin was drying out even as I got further into the evening. My skin felt softer and more hydrated to the touch with use.

Price

This is priced at $85 retail.

Where to Buy

This can be purchased directly from Chella on their site HERE.

My Thoughts

I really like this cleanser as a daytime cleanser! I found it comfortable to wear both on its own and under makeup. I also love that it offers SPF 25 as I'm very careful about my sun exposure despite being medium complected (I'm interested to learn more about the ingredients used as sunscreen)! The scent is so pleasant, which is a huge factor for me because I'm very sensitive to smells and tend to get migraines off of a lot of things that are overly perfume-y.  I did not react negatively to this in any way--which is great with my sensitive skin. All in all I found this to be a high-quality product much like the other Chella products I've had the pleasure of reviewing. If this is within your budget and you have sensitive, dry skin I'd say this is worth a try!

Have you tried any Chella products? What did you think?

  4. I love the Chella products I've tried (getting one in my ipsy this month, too!). These sound great, just not for me personally since I don't do orange or floral scents

    1. Oh that stinks! I LOVE citrus and if it's fresh floral (like hibiscus or something to that effect) I love it too ;)
