Bain de Terre Giveaway!
Bain de Terre has generously offered my lovely readers a giveaway for my favorite products (see my review below)! This giveaway is open to U.S. residents only because of the nature of the products offered as the prize.
If you've followed me for a while you know I have a love/hate relationship with my hair. I love that it's different, but I hate that it's so darn needy! Just to give you an idea (in case this is your first time on my blog), my hair is black, but it's also extremely, extremely thick and very textured (I'm half-Japanese and then primarily Italian on the other side so you can imagine). It is not super straight and it does what it wants when it wants to do it. It also gets very dry if I don't treat it right. In fact, caring for my hair (along with finding the right hairdressers) has been a major part of my life since I was pretty darn little. It's hard! Needless to say, I am constantly on the look out for new hair care products that work for me, which is why I jumped at the chance to give several Bain de Terre hair care lines a try.
If you're unfamiliar with Bain de Terre, their hair care line is more of the high-end salon persuasion. Their products are paraben-free (something I look for) and include a number of natural ingredients to help promote hair health. I had the pleasure of reviewing 3 of their product lines: Passion Flower, Jasmine, and Green Meadow.
Price Range
The prices I saw online ranged from around $11.99 to $15.99 per product.
Where to Buy
Bain de Terre products are sold at a number of high-end salons and pro beauty supply stores (including Ulta). To find a salon or website visit HERE.
Bain de Terre Passion Flower Review

Bain de Terre Passion Flower Hair Care |
Products
The Passion Flower line includes a shampoo, conditioner, styling oil, finishing spray.
Best For
This line is made for color-treated hair (though I regularly use products for color-treated hair even when my hair is virgin hair as I find them moisturizing and gentle).
Scent
Light floral
Ease of Use
I found all of these products easy to work with. The shampoo lathered well, the conditioner smoothed in and rinsed well, the styling oil was easy to apply and did make styling easier, and the finishing spray held well.
My Thoughts
I really liked this line! The scent isn't over-powering and everything in this line worked well for me. Of the 3 lines I tried, this was one of my favorites (and one I'm still using now). I know this is technically for color-treated hair, but I have always used products for color-treated hair even during periods when I've had virgin hair because they tend to be so gentle and moisturizing. The styling oil worked really well to help keep my hair smooth and it was noticeably less frizzy with use (a big issue for my textured hair). I found this entire line made my hair more manageable, softer and my hair responded well to it.

Bain de Terre Blow Dry Smoothing Cream |
Products
The Jasmine line includes a shampoo, conditioner, intense conditioner, smoothing cream.
Best For
This line is made to moisturize dry hair.
Scent
Light floral
Ease of Use
I found all of these products easy to work with. The shampoo lathered well, the conditioner smoothed in and rinsed well, the intense conditioner was easy to apply and rinse, and the smoothing cream applied easily to my hair while wet.
My Thoughts
This was definitely my other favorite from the 3 lines I tried! My hair gets dry so easily and being super textured, I need moisturizing, smoothing hair products. I definitely saw a difference when using these products, especially with the addition of the 2-Minute Intense Conditioner and Smoothing Cream. When using a blow dryer to style, I found my hair was smoother and softer after use of all 4 products. Definitely a fan of these!
Bain de Terre Green Meadow Review

Bain de Terre Green Meadow detangler |
Products
The Green Meadow line includes a shampoo, conditioner, spray-in detangler.
Best For
This line is a balancing formula made for normal to oily hair.
Scent
Clean and fresh
Ease of Use
All of these products were easy to use and very straight-forward in their application.
My Thoughts
This was the only line that didn't really work for me, but given that it's for normal to oily hair, it really isn't suited for my dry, textured hair. I think someone with normal to oily hair might find this line works well for them, but for me I didn't find it hydrating enough on its own. I did, however, like using the spray-in detangler after water-related activities such as swimming or even after getting stuck out in the rain as my hair tends to tangle really badly and get super dry and spraying a few sprays of the detangler into my hair then brushing made a big difference.

Final Thoughts
I am really impressed with Bain de Terre and I love that their formulas are paraben-free as I try to avoid them as much as possible. I had really good luck with 2 of the 3 lines I tried and have continued to rotate many of these products into my personal hair care routine. I think that of all the products I tried, the Jasmine shampoo and 2-minute intense conditioner and Passion Flower styling oil were my favorites!
Paraben-free FTW! Great review!

ReplyDeleteThanks to a stupid amount of premature grey, I have to continually dye my hair. I'm just 32, I can't be seen with grey streaks, right? So, the constant color treatments are taking their toll :/ So, I'd love to try the first 2 products for sure!
