Graftobian HD Glamour Creme Corrector Palette Review

Corrector Shades

I was very pleased with the corrector shades included in this palette as they are appropriate for a wide variety of pigment/discoloration issues that one might want to address when applying makeup to their own face or someone else's face.

Graftobian creme products have the smoothest, creamiest consistency. Seriously, they are a dream to work with and smooth onto the skin beautifully! I recommend using a small paddle brush such as a small concealer brush when color-correcting small areas, but use whatever tool you find most effective for you.

I did find these shades to adequately color-correct the pigment issues for which they are meant to neutralize. I'll show you an example of one of them below!

One thing I like about creams is that they tend not to irritate my face as much as other products if they're high-quality. Graftobian did not irritate my sensitive skin and blended into my skin well. I would recommend ensuring that dry skin is taken care of beforehand as with just about any product I've ever tried, it will be  a bit difficult to really blend creams flawlessly into the skin if it's dry.

When used under the eye, there was some slight creasing prior to it setting, which was easily patted back down without an issue. Under-eye creases are notorious pains in the buns, but Wayne Goss did a fabulous tute on how to prevent creasing that you may want to check out--he's an absolute inspiration to me. But again, it was easy to correct the slight creasing even with my pronounced under-eye creases. I did not get any cracking around the edges of my nose (another trouble area for me with some products).

Packaging may or may not be a big deal to you, but especially when it comes to products in your kit, good packaging can be key! This palette is slim and sturdy-feeling--easy to hold in one hand while applying with the other. The hinges seems strong and I love that the entire top is see-through. I also love that the shades are listed on the back (with tips on which corrects which color). The individuals shades in this palette are available in individual jars on, so I'm guessing you could potentially purchase colors you run out of a lot and refill your palette yourself, but I haven't had a chance to get my hands on any of those so I can't tell you much about them.

Where to Buy

This palette is available on HERE. Le Cosmetique offers a Pro Discount Program for pros at all levels. Contact them for details.

This palette is priced at $20.95 and LeCosmetique offers free shipping on orders of $25 or more in the continental U.S. I have to say, from what I've seen LeCosmetique's prices on Graftobian palettes are extremely good compared to other major beauty supply stores I shop at. Just a heads up!

Color Correcting 101 & Graftobian HD Glamour Creme Corrector Results

For those of you new to Color Correcting, here's a quick rundown to intro you to this technique of dealing with unwanted pigmentation/coloring on the face...

What's the difference between concealing and correcting?
It's actually really simple. Concealers are meant to literally cover and "conceal" the issue while correctors are meant to neutralize them.

How does color correction work?
Time to break out those color wheels! Remember when you learned about primary colors, secondary colors and so on? Do you remember anything about complementary colors? Complementary colors are actually colors directly opposite one another on the color wheel. When it comes to color correcting and makeup, complementary colors are your best friends as the complementary color of the color you want to neutralize is the color corrector you should choose.

For example, if you have blue pigmentation under your eyes you want to use a complementary shade of orange. If you have a red splotch on your face you want to use green. And so on, and so on...

Graftobian HD Glamour Creme Corrector at Work

I wanted to show you guys just how effective color correction can be with this Graftobian palette! Keep in mind, none of these photos below have been retouched to correct anything. I simply cropped and watermarked them prior to posting.

As you can see, I have some slight discoloration under my eye that starts just below the inner corner and works its way down. It makes me look tired in full-face shots and isn't super attractive. I attribute it to the loss of sleep I've suffered due to certain little people ;) I'm sure you fellow mommies can relate!

This is the same eye after the appropriate color corrector (Graftobian #30394 Pink Hi-Lite) has been applied. This picture was taking at the same angle and with the same lighting. See? Magic!

Quick Tip: You don't necessarily want to smear color-corrector under your entire eye. You want to make sure with color correcting that you only apply the complementary color to the problematic area and blend out the edges when it's in a concentrated form like this. I know there are some full-face color correctors out there, but they tend to be in liquid from what I've tried/seen.

Since my under-eye pigmentation is a beige color, a light salmon-y pink (#30394) was most appropriate. If you have blue under-eye pigmentation, then use a complementary shade of orange or #30391 Soft Orange in this palette.

In the picture above you can also see the deep under-eye crease I have on both sides. This is where makeup creases on me if it's going to crease. I chose to wear the correctors I reviewed without anything to set them to see how they'd do solo and although I got some slight creasing before they set, once I patted the creases down they set and did not crease again. I didn't find these to be drying under my eyes or see any flaking. If that changes I'll be sure to update, but for now the results have been fabulous.

Final Thoughts
