Review: Shea Terra Organics Rose Hips Black Soap Deep Pore Face Wash & Mask

I was recently given the opportunity by Shea Terra Organics to try their Rose Hips Black Soap. Ironically, around the time I began testing this product my sister came to visit for a week and given the fact that we have 2 very different skin types I took advantage of her willingness to try it out with me!

Shea Terra's Rose Hips Black Soap comes in a glass bottle with a pump, which I love because I prefer glass over plastic any day! This bottle contains 4 oz of product and from what I can tell after using it alongside my sister for over a week now, it definitely goes a long way!

One of my favorite things right off the bat was the ingredient list--amazing! You know I prefer natural products whenever possible and Shea Terra Organics really does use amazing, natural ingredients--no greenwashing here! This baby is 100% natural!

You may have seen other "black soap" products, but this is definitely the real deal not just some soap dyed a dark color. Whatsmore, the black soap in this face wash/mask is sourced from the Yoruba tribe in Nigeria, where it is believed black soap originated.

How it worked for me
As you all know, I have super, super sensitive skin (aside from the occasional single blemish I'm not really prone to breakouts, but I do have large pores on my nose) so I am constantly on the look out for things that don't irritate my ridiculous skin. Not only did this not cause any unwanted issues, it cleansed and even smoothed out my skin like NUTS! I swear, my skin was as amazing after using this as it was when I was a teen--I had amazing skin in my teens/early 20s. I didn't recognize it to the touch it was so changed. I don't know if I've ever come across something so effective that was also 100% natural. Seriously ... I am still reeling over how amazing this is. The one thing I will note is that it is not artificially scented (yay), so it does have a slightly peculiar smell to it. I wouldn't call it unpleasant, but I won't be bottling it and wearing it on my next date with Hubs. If you use natural products regularly I doubt this will bother you. If you want everything you use to smell like synthetic flowers, this may not be the product for you.

How it worked for my sister
My sister's skin seems somewhat sensitive, though not nearly as sensitive as mine. Additionally, she has combination skin and is very prone to breakouts on her forehead and nose. When she first began using this her skin was definitely giving her some trouble. After just one use she began to notice her skin clearing. After a week her skin was not only clearing but the marks she had from the breakout she had been experiencing had diminished noticeably! She was incredibly impressed as well!

This retails for $18 on Shea Terra Organics' website.

Final Thoughts
If you can't already tell, my sister and I are both completely sold on how amazing Shea Terra Organics' Rose Hips Black Soap is! This stuff is 100% natural and delivers results unlike anything I've ever seen. I know my sister is dying to get her hands on her own bottle and I know a few of my brothers would probably love to try this as well. I have a large family (of which I'm the oldest) and half of us have clear skin and half have problem skin. I think I'm going to try to get Hubs to give this a try since he has super sensitive skin and just shaved down his beard into a goatee after almost 6 years of having a beard! His poor skin needed a break and I read black soap can help with razor burn. I'll report back after he tries it, though I hate to give any of it up ;) I definitely recommend this whether you have amazing skin or problem skin!

Now I can't wait to explore Shea Terra Organics other products! Does anyone have any recommendations?

Would you try Black Soap?
