butter LONDON The Black Knight - How pretty is this?! |
Color Description
This is a semi-opaque base with multi-color glitter in black, pink, blue, and silver.
Application/Opacity
Applying this wasn't quite as easy as most of my other butter LONDON polishes because this dried very quickly, but once I got into a groove of doing super quick swipes it was fine. The first coat was a bit patchy (what polish isn't though?), but the second smoothed it out. I did a third coat because I felt as though that would really give it a little extra "oomph". I didn't put a top coat over it before taking pictures so that you can see the texture in the picture below, but you definitely want to use a top coat! Not only does it smooth the surface, but it makes the glitter POP!

As you can see, all of the glitter isn't quite what I'd consider micro, but it's definitely small. Because the base is black, it tends to end up brushed over the glitter a bit, hiding it a smidge. Tip: To make it pop, get a cotton round or even a Q-tip with a bit of polish remover on it and do a super quick pass over the top. This will take the tiniest bit of the top layer off and reveal a bit more glitter. Then you can put your top coat on and voila! Perfection! Price This limited-edition polish retails for $14 a bottle. Where to Buy You can purchase this directly from butter LONDON on their site HERE. Final Thoughts Though not quite as easy-going as other butter LONDON polishes, I think The Black Knight is worth a tiny bit of extra work to achieve a really unique look! I think that anyone sick of looking at the same glitter polishes over and over, but who still wants to be a part of the glitter polish trend, will like this fun polish. This polish is also available with another one of the holiday polishes released by butter LONDON in their adorable Dressing Table Duos! What do you think? |
