August PopSugar Must Have Box Review

I have been a huge fan of PopSugar's Must Have Boxes for a long time! I love the variety they usually offer and so many of the past products I've seen in review posts have been ones I'd personally enjoy. This box was definitely an interesting mix of end-of-summer goodies, though I was a little disappointed to receive a couple products I couldn't try. More on that below!

Overall, I thought it was a fun box :)

Bite Beauty Lush Fruit Lip Gloss - This shade was created exclusively for PopSugar, which is super fun! You guys know I love my pink lippies ;)
Retail - $22

The Mason Jar Cookie Company "Celebrate!" cookie mix - I love the packaging on this mix! I'm a New Englander and I don't know if the rest of the country is as obsessed with Mason Jar mixes as people are up here (once the holidays come rolling around I swear they're EVERYWHERE), but I think this is a fun take on it!

The downside was, I'm allergic to wheat and avoid it whenever possible. My little guys made these with The Hugs, however, and loved them! If you have little guys I always suggest using apple sauce instead of eggs so it's more little-people friendly ;)

Goodbyn Purple Meal & Dipper Set - We make 90% of the food we eat ourselves in our household during a typical week, so food storage is a MUST! I love that this comes with a cute little dipping container. The container seems sturdy and it's a great size for snacks and smaller meals. I wouldn't put anything with liquid or sauce in this (put the sauce in the little sauce container if you need it) as ours wasn't quite as airtight as other tupperware we have, but for solid/dry foods this works great.
Retail - $8

Kendra Scott Elisa Necklace in Black Cat's Eye - I know some others received earrings from what I saw, but I got this cute necklace (another blogger friend of mine received a necklace as well!). I like it, it's simple and definitely something that could work with a number of different looks. I'm not sure if I would have chosen it for myself, but isn't that why we subscribe to boxes like this? To broaden our lifestyle horizons and expose ourselves to things we wouldn't normally choose on our own? ;)

I tried to find this piece on the Kendra Scott site to determine the metal used and couldn't, but found 2 that were nearly identical, but with different stones. They were only slightly more expensive so I'm assuming that like those, this piece is also 14k gold plated over brass. The reason I was curious is because I react to most metals, but gold typically doesn't bother me. I haven't worn this yet, but fingers crossed my body doesn't get silly on me with it!
Retail - $50

Lollia At Last Perfumed Shower Gel - I am a huge fan of yummy smelling shower gels. I think if you tend to like more mature florals this could be right up your alley! For me, it was a tad heavier than what I normally use. I'd love to check out some of their other scents, however!

Unfortunately, this also arrived open in the box so some of the product was lost, but I think it was probably a total fluke and likely due to being so beat up in the mail--my box came a bit damaged.

Retail - $22

Paddywax Ocean Tide + Sea Salt Mini Jar Candle - I have to start by saying the name got me right away! The Hubs comes from a very Irish family and he's actually been to Ireland. His name is Patrick, so Paddy is a common nickname. Anytime I see anything with Paddy on it I usually try to grab it for him. The moment he saw this he got a total kick out of it! We all enjoy the scent as well.
Retail - $10

thinkThin Brownie Crunch High Protein Bar - This is a high protein bar that is thankfully gluten-free! On the downside, it contains maltitol as a sweetener, which I avoid. If this isn't a problem for you, the ingredients look fairly simple for the most part otherwise compared to some of the most ultra-chemically protein bars I've seen out there!
Retail - $22.90 for 10 bars from what I've seen online
This was a "special extra"

My Thoughts

Overall, I like the variety of products in this box. I think it's fantastic that they included a mix of edibles, lifestyle items and even jewelry. The one downside is that one of the food items wouldn't work for anyone who's gluten-free or has an allergy like I do. I find this is a fairly common issue for those of us that need to be careful so I'm use to it. Perhaps in the future PopSugar will allow us to choose a gluten-free option!

The total value of my box was $124 (not including the thinkThin bar as it was an extra) and the cost to a subscriber would have been $39.95, which means a difference of $84.05! That's pretty darn good.

I think it's clear the value of this box by far exceeds the cost assuming you like and use the majority of the products!

If you're like me and enjoy subscription boxes, this is basically the godfather of subs in my opinion. I've tried A LOT over the years and this gives some of the best variety and highest quality items I've personally seen. If it's within your budget, check it out for a month and see what you think!

Have you ever subscribed to PopSugar's Must Have Box? What did you think?

POPSUGAR provided me with a complimentary POPSUGAR Must Have box. The opinions I have shared about the box are my own and POPSUGAR did not tell me what to say or how to say it.
