A Beautiful Cause - Annual Charity Auction

If you follow my blog regularly, you know that I'm a huge fan of eco-conscious companies and products. I've spent some time doing relief work (domestic and overseas) as has Hubs (he grew up in Indonesia while his parents--both medical professionals--provided medical care among other things to villagers) and I hope my kids want to do the same as some point in their lives. It's so easy during the holidays to get swept up in the materialism and "me" mentality. And I feel as though many makeup lovers are stereotyped as self-centered and brainless. In my opinion,'s Annual Charity Auction is perfect proof that just the opposite is true!

What is it?
Benefiting Doctors Without Borders, the Annual Charity Auction is a fabulous event in which those that register on the site can big on some absolutely phenomenal beauty products! Between November 28 (today) to December 12th, makeup lovers can bid on the individual products, which range from super high-demand, limited edition items to cult favorites. I was so happy when I went over the list of products to see that some of my favorite companies and bloggers had donated items--Fyrinnae and Cult Nails being among them! Love them even more now! I've seen everything from MUFE's Wild & Chic Aqua Cream Collection (I'm dying for this item by the way) to 6 of Sleek Makeup's most popular palettes. Retail values for items range from over $1000 to under $50.

How to bid
To bid, all you have to do is register on Be ready to supply the follow information:
  • First and last name
  • Email address you check regularly (this is how winners will be notified)
*This info will be kept private, only the username of the current winning bidder is displayed on the product page for each item.

Once you've registered, you can peruse the products listed and place a bid on any of the ones you're interested in. Keep in mind this is for charity and definitely for an amazing cause!

What happens if you win?
If you win an item, you will be notified through the email address you provided when you registered. You will then "pay" for the item you've won by making a donation in that amount directly to Doctors Without Borders through the site's secure giving page. As this is technically a donation, it should be tax deductible.

So what are you waiting for?
Head over the and make a difference by bidding on some fabulous products! If you're unfamiliar with Doctors Without Borders I strongly suggest you give their site a quick read. They do amazing work!

Hope to see you there ;)
